I had a mixed experience at Deco Hostel in Krakow. On one hand, the hostel's aesthetic is stunning, making it feel more like a boutique hotel than a typical hostel. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, always ready with tips for exploring the city. However, I found the atmosphere a bit strange, as there were large groups of long-term guests which made it feel less like a travelers' haven. Overall, while it's charming and clean, it might not cater well to backpackers seeking a more traditional hostel vibe.

I stayed in a double room that was clean and comfortable for the price, but I did experience some noise from other guests.
Service

Staff were exceptionally polite and provided great sightseeing tips, which I truly appreciated.
Location

While it was a 30-minute walk to the city center, I didn’t mind as it was a pleasant stroll through Krakow.
Dining

The hostel offered a nice breakfast with unlimited cereal and a free sandwich each day, which was a great perk.
Facilities

The shared kitchen and living areas were clean, but I sometimes felt a bit unwelcome when using the kitchen with the groups that were around.

My stay at Hostel Deco was a mixed experience. The charm of its vintage decor and free amenities was offset by a few cleanliness issues and noisy disturbances from parties. Overall, it’s a decent budget choice, especially for social travelers, but some aspects could use improvement.

Rooms
6.0
I stayed in a cozy private room that was nicely decorated, although some vintage touches were quirky rather than appealing. The shared bathrooms were clean, but the lack of soundproofing was noticeable during busy times.
Service
6.0
The staff were friendly and accommodating, allowing us to use facilities before check-in. However, communication about noise policies could have been clearer to avoid late-night frustrations.
Location
7.0
The hostel is located about a 10-20 minute walk from the old town. I appreciated being close to supermarkets and various dining options without being in the thick of tourist crowds.
Dining
6.0
Breakfast is free, which is nice, though it’s nothing special. The kitchen was well-equipped, and I had a good time cooking some meals during my stay.
Facilities
7.0
With free Wi-Fi, laundry, and bike rentals available, the facilities were quite generous for a budget hostel. However, the lack of air-conditioning made the summer nights quite uncomfortable.

I had a fantastic stay at Hostel Deco. the location was ideal, just a 10-minute walk to Old Town, with plenty of dining options nearby. The staff was incredibly helpful, especially when it came to booking tours. The cleanliness of the facilities was impressive, though the kitchen could benefit from an update. Overall, I found it to be more of a cozy boutique hotel experience than a typical hostel.

The hostel's location is perfect. just a short stroll from Old Town, and the area felt very safe. There were shops and restaurants close by, making it convenient for anything I needed.

While there was a simple breakfast included, I thought it could have been more varied. I enjoyed the sandwich option for a quick lunch, but more choices would have been nice.

The facilities were generally good. the free laundry service was a pleasant surprise. However, the kitchen could use some cleaning and updating to make it more functional.

I had a pleasant stay at Hostel Deco, drawn in by its stunning Art Deco decor and comfortable private room. The staff were incredibly helpful, particularly Robert, who went above and beyond when I lost my phone. However, the lack of a lift and the slightly distant location from the main square were minor drawbacks.

Rooms

The room was beautifully designed with lovely furnishings and a comfortable atmosphere. I particularly enjoyed the small balcony overlooking greenery, which made my stay even more enjoyable.
Service
10.0
The service was excellent, with friendly staff always available to assist. Robert's help in recovering my lost phone truly stood out and made my experience nice.
Location

While the hostel is a bit of a walk from the main square, I found it manageable. The nearby tram stop also made exploring other areas of Krakow quite convenient.
Dining

I appreciated the simple breakfast offered, which included sandwiches and coffee. The dining room was a social space, making it easy to connect with fellow travelers.
Facilities

The common areas, including the TV room and shared kitchen, were well-equipped and maintained. However, I found the kitchen a bit small for the number of guests using it at peak times.

I had a really great experience at Hostel Deco! The staff were super friendly and went above and beyond to make my stay special, like setting aside a vegetarian sandwich just for me. The room had a lovely view and was well-decorated, but the lack of an elevator and the location a bit away from the old town might be a downside for some. Overall, I'd definitely recommend it and would stay there again!

My room in the Pigeon Coop was spacious and peaceful, with a nice view. It was decorated beautifully with an art deco theme, and the furnishings were lovely. However, the soundproofing was lacking, which might be an issue at times.
Service

The staff were fantastic! They were efficient and genuinely cared about making my stay better. They even made sure to provide a special breakfast sandwich for me, which I really appreciated.
Location

Although the hostel is about a 10-15 minute walk to Rynek Glowny, I didn't mind it at all. Plus, there’s a bus stop just half a block away which is super convenient for getting to the airport.
Dining
7.0
Breakfast was simple but convenient with cereal and sandwiches available. The dining area was a great space to meet other travelers and share experiences.
Facilities
8.0
Free laundry services were a huge plus after traveling for days, and the common areas, like the TV room and computers, were well-maintained. The lack of an elevator could be a hassle, especially for those on the higher floors.
